Winter at the Feing des Loges: warm and cosy in the valley

Infrared sauna under the roof beams, film nights, lakes, snowshoeing or skiing depending on snow: a peaceful winter in an 1829 farmhouse in Vagney.

A warm winter

In winter, the house gathers around the warmth. The ground floor has underfloor heating, the infrared sauna waits under the roof beams and the big table welcomes raclettes and fondues.

The gîte is not at the foot of the slopes: it sits peacefully in the valley. Snow or no snow, winter here is first enjoyed indoors and close by.

At the house

  • The infrared sauna, under the beams of the old hayloft: gentle, enveloping heat and an LED starry sky
  • A film on the home cinema or a series on Netflix
  • Table football, darts and board games
  • A raclette or a fondue: the sets are in the kitchen
  • Two washing machines and a tumble dryer for wet clothes

Without depending on snow

  • Gérardmer and its lake, about 20 minutes away, for a winter walk
  • Vagney’s chocolate makers: La Maison des Délices and Jacques Bockel
  • Saint-Lambert church, a listed historic monument, and its 18th-century organ
  • The swimming pool, cinema and library in Vagney
  • Christmas markets in the region [lieux et dates à compléter]
  • Walks on the waymarked trails and the Voie verte, when the weather allows

Depending on snow

When there is snow, the Hautes Vosges still offer great days on the slopes. Snow cover varies from one winter to the next: check before you set off.
